Utah Jazz owner challenges Cameron Boozer with brutal interview question
Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith had a tough question for Cameron Boozer, asking him about his dad's previous success with the franchise.
A consensus top-three selection for most of the 2025-26 collegiate basketball season, Cameron Boozer of the Duke Blue Devils is looking to rise as far up as he can during the 2026 NBA Draft Combine. However, given the status of top prospects AJ Dybantsa (BYU) and Darryn Peterson (Kansas), that may turn out to be a difficult task. According to Utah Jazz insider Chandler Holt, Boozer was asked a difficult question by Jazz owner Ryan Smith during a meeting between the team and the Duke forward.
The question was, โCarlos (Boozer) could only take us to the Western Conference Finals. What do you think you could do? โ Of the four teams Carlos Boozer (Cameron's dad) played for in the NBA, he spent the most time with Utah, playing there for six of his 13 seasons.
That said, Jazz owner Ryan Smith wasn't there for any of them, having owned the team since December of 2020. Either way, it'll be interesting to see if Boozer had the right answer for Smith, as the Jazz will likely have the chance to select him with the No. 2 overall selection in June.
