What started as a strong performance began to unravel, and the match looked like it might slip away from him. The afternoon had started with such promise, but it didn’t take long for things to go sideways.

It wasn’t long before he was moving gingerly, being pulled across the court by Medvedev. Sinner has had health issues in recent tournaments and seems to be dealing with more than just fatigue. He’s been sick recently and is still recovering from an earlier injury.

Medvedev had weathered the early storm, and momentum appeared to be shifting back towards Sinner, yet he clearly didn’t see it that way. He told the umpire: “It’s pouring!

” Sinner didn’t back down when the official pushed back, saying: “What do you mean? The problem is the lines. What if I slip on them?

How can you not make the decision? It’s pouring! ” The exchange came shortly after Medvedev voiced his frustration over a medical time-out Sinner had taken earlier.
