Katherine Legge is looking to make history on Memorial Day Weekend as she aims to become the first woman and second driver overall to complete the double and race all 1,100 miles of the Indy 500 and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 on May 24. Just starting both races would make Legge the sixth driver and first woman to officially attempt the double, a feat Kyle Larson attempted in both 2024 and 2025. Weather prevented Larson from starting the Coca-Cola 600 in 2024, while he competed in both races last year but crashed out of each.
If Legge can complete the feat, she would join Tony Stewart as the only other driver to rack up the necessary 1,100 miles in one day. First, she must qualify for the Indy 500. Here's what you need to know about Legge's qualification status for the Indy 500.
