May 16—Beavercreek baseball defeated Ryle (KY) 6-0 in a Reds Futures High School Showcase game at Great American Ball Park on Friday, May 15. Easton Grimm earned PNC MVP honors in the win for 'Creek. It marked a fourth straight win for the Beavers, which improved to 18-5 overall and will have another out-of-state matchup with Roncalli (IN) on Saturday, May 16.
Three more area teams are set to play at Great American Ball Park as part of the Reds Futures High School Showcase's 11th annual Big League Weekend on Saturday, May 16. Greater Catholic Co-Ed champion Badin will play Greater Western Ohio Conference champion Centerville at 10 a. m.
, Edgewood will face St. Xavier at 1 p. m.
and Roger Bacon will take on Walnut Hills at 4 p. m. Baseball Lakota East 5, Lakota West 4: Donovan Corbett hit in the go-ahead run with a RBI sac-fly in the sixth inning and Lakota East swept the rivalry series.
Braydon Johnson hit a home run in the loss for Lakota West. Monroe 7, Franklin 3: Owen Daniels-Day and Jayden Hounchell drove in a pair of runs apiece and Monroe won a fifth straight game to improve to 18-4 overall. Dayton Christian 26, Meadowdale 0: Chris Hodge and Logan Orwick combined for the shutout and Hodge added a home run to lead Dayton Christian.
