Glacier bests Bigfork Friday at Sapa-Johnsrud Invitational
WHITEFISH — Zane Huff drove in two runs and Glacier held off Bigfork on Friday evening at Smith Fields in the Sapa-Johnsrud Invitational. Glacier (11-6) grabbed the lead in the second inning when Huff delivered an RBI single before adding two more runs in the third on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Falon Clark. The Wolfpack added another insurance run in the fifth inning and carried a 4-1 lead into the sixth.
Bigfork (10-5) made a late push with two runs in the sixth inning. Wyatt Hickey delivered an RBI single and the Vikings later added another run to cut the deficit to one, but Glacier escaped the inning and closed out the win in the seventh. Clark finished 2-for-3 to lead Glacier at the plate, while Wyatt Sharp earned the win after allowing three runs — one earned — across 5 2/3 innings with five strikeouts.
Ryne Gillette recorded the final out for the save. Hickey led Bigfork by going 2-for-3 with an RBI, while the Vikings piled up six stolen bases. Cavin Wiest stole two bases and Bigfork finished with six hits in the loss.
