Washington football adds commitment from top 2027 safety target

The Washington Huskies added a commitment from their top safety target in the 2027 class late on Friday night.

Late on Friday night, the Washington Huskies earned a commitment from one of their top targets in the secondary, four-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound product of St. John Bosco High School in Southern California, who is ranked as the No.

414 overall prospect and No. 38 safety in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite, chose the Huskies over Arizona State, Michigan, and 26 other offers, thanks to a big push from position coach Taylor Mays. Ever since his return to Seattle, Mays has made Wily-Ava his top priority in the class.

Washington hosted him for several unofficial visits over the last year, including the matchup with then-No. 1 Ohio State in September, and Junior Day in March, and has long been considered the favorite to land his services. While he had previously told Rivals' Greg Biggins that he was going to announce his pledge on June 27, the Huskies continued to surge in his recruitment and were able to win the day before his official visit on June 5.
