Goalkeeper Macey to leave Colchester

Arsenal academy product Macey, 31, signed from Portsmouth in 2024 and played 45 of Colchester's 46 matches in League Two last season. Also leaving the Jobserve Community Stadium are Dom Gape, John-Kymani Gordon and Jack Baldwin.
Under-21s Elkanah Akor, Harrison Chamberlain and Kai O'Flynn Martin have also not had their contracts renewed. The club remains in negotiations over new deals with Arthur Read, Ellis Iandolo, Kane Vincent-Young, Owura Edwards, Rob Hunt, Samson Tovide and goalkeeper Tom Smith. The Essex club, who finished 12th under manager Danny Cowley this season, have opted to extend deals with Harry Anderson, Jack Payne, Sam Kuffour Jr and Teddy Bishop.
Colchester have triggered options on under-21s Alfie Newby, Kaion Lisbie, Kurainashe Musanhi and Makise Evans. First team regulars Finlay Barbrook, Harvey Araujo, Micah Mbick and Will Goodwin, who made 63 starts and scored 11 goals between them, are among half a dozen loanees who will return to their parent clubs.
