Foley was the fifth man to oversee a first-team game during the 2025-26 campaign, having been given temporary control for the remainder of the season following Dino Maamria's exit in March. Barrow won two of their 11 matches under the 39-year-old and finished bottom of League Two to be relegated to the National League.

Adam Murray left Kidderminster Harriers earlier this week to become Barrow's new boss on a two-year contract. Defender Canavan, 35, joined the Bluebirds in January 2022 and made 183 appearances for the club. Connor Mahoney, Tyler Walker, Kane Hemmings and Angus MacDonald will also depart at the end of their respective contracts this summer.

However, the club has triggered an option to extend goalkeeper Wyll Stanway's contract until next summer.
