Oklahoma appears on the verge of strengthening its Class of 2027 as of Friday.

Nothing official happened Friday for the Oklahoma football team on the recruiting trail, but things are looking up for coach Brent Venables' Class of 2027. Covered Wagons Recruiting, an On3 and Rivals prediction page, updated its projections to list Branham, Texas, running back Jakoby Dixon as a likely commit to Oklahoma. Dixon, a 5-foot-10 and 200-pound three-star prospect, had long been projected to go to Oregon.

That changed Friday. The On3/Rivals site now lists Dixon as 96. 7% likely to commit to the Sooners.

Venables and Co. currently have the No. 2-ranked 2027 class in FBS.

Twenty-one players have already committed in the class, including 11 who rank as four-stars. Of those four-stars, six rank in the top 100 recruits in the nation, led by Bixby High School offensive lineman Kaeden Perry. Perry is the No.
