Warriors GM reveals Golden State's 'top priority' for next season

Turnovers were an issue for the Warriors last season, as the team ranked 26th in the league, averaging 15 per game.

Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. addressed the media Friday, discussing Golden State's 2025-26 seasons and their offseason goals. Now with head coach Steve Kerr back into the fold for two more seasons, the Warriors are preparing to make another championship push with former two-time MVP Stephen Curry.

However, to do so, Dunleavy Jr. was adamant about reducing turnovers. "The top priority is to take care of the ball, limit turnovers.

" Although the Warriors dealt with plenty of injuries, the Warriors finished 26th in turnovers per game, averaging 15 per contest. Last season, the five teams with the fewest turnovers per game all finished top-three or better in their respective conferences. While Curry's 39-game absence is partially to blame, taking care of the ball is an area that the Warriors need to improve in if they want to cement themselves as contenders once again.
