Commanders named 'ideal' landing spot for star wide receiver

Sky F1

The Commanders have been linked to free-agent WR Stefon Diggs for weeks now. Is Washington the ideal landing spot?

They drafted Antonio Williams in the third round, and they have plenty of rotational pieces, but no one to really stand out and force defenses to take their eyes off McLaurin. There have been talks of the Commanders scooping up Brandon Aiyuk, should the San Francisco 49ers release him, but that hasn't happened yet, and minicamp is right around the corner.

Aiyuk isn't the only answer to the Commanders' problems, though. Pro Football Focus named Washington as the ideal landing spot for free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs. PFF Free-Agent Rank: No.

Diggs was cut by the Patriots just one year into his lucrative contract, but his 2025 performance wasn’t the reason why.

The 32-year-old was an anchor for New England’s upstart passing attack, ranking 10th among qualifiers in PFF receiving grade (82. 6) and yards per route run (2. 08) while dropping just 2.
