Alina Martinson wins two regional titles for Saugatuck; state qualifiers from Fennville, Black River, Calvary

SAUGATUCK - Alina Martinson watched her siblings become NCAA Division I athletes and bring the Saugatuck track and field team into state contention. Natalie and Adam Martinson were part of a growing Saugatuck running legacy that Alina has put her own stamp on. Despite being an all-state cross country runner, Alina has made her track mark as a senior in the sprints.

"Alina is just gifted. She is versatile and can run everything from the 100 to the 5K," Saugatuck coach Angelina Bauer said. "We can move things around in the lineup to get the points we need.

"It has been really fun. Growing up watching my siblings, it has been inspirational for me to keep going," she said. Alina will run at the Spire Institute next year.
