Track regionals: Grand Ledge gets title sweep, Williamston boys second
The highlights from track and field regionals featuring Greater Lansing teams.
Katie Blue was a triple individual winner while helping the Grand Ledge girls track and field team capture a regional title. Blue won the pole vault and swept the hurdles events while helping the Comets finish with 93 points. The Comets were 10 points ahead of runner-up Okemos, while DeWitt and East Lansing tied for third with 75 points.
Blue cleared 13-0 while winning the pole vault, took first in the 100 hurdles in 15. 40 seconds and finished the 300 hurdles in 45. 39.
Natalia Hawks of Okemos was also a triple winner at the regional. Hawks won the 100 in 12. 48, the 200 in 25.
73 and the long jump in 16-10. 5. East Lansing had a strong showing in the relays and won the 400, 800 and 1,600 relays.
