Aliyah Boston injury update: Fever center exits early vs. Mystics
Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston's night ended early against the Washington Mystics on Friday. Boston played 21 minutes in Friday's home matchup against the Mystics before being ruled out for the remainder of the game due to a lower leg injury, the Fever announced. Boston had nine points, shooting 3-of-8 from the field and 1-of-3 from the 3-point line.
Her stat line was rounded out with four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Boston made the 127th consecutive regular-season start of her career against the Mystics and moved up to No. 6 on the franchise’s all-time scoring list, surpassing Erica Wheeler (1,830 points) on Friday.
But Boston was subbed out with 2:01 remaining in the third quarter and didn't return as the Fever staged a comeback and forced overtime despite trailing by 14 points in the second half. It's not immediately clear when Boston suffered the injury. Boston suffered a right lower extremity injury while playing for Unrivaled's Phantom BC earlier this year.
Boston was ruled out the remainder of the Unrivaled season on March 1 due to the injury and subsequently missed the FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico in March.
