After a first-round elimination in the Class 7A playoffs, Tupelo is going in a different direction with its baseball program. The Golden Wave have parted ways with head coach Scott Gann after two seasons, multiple sources confirmed to the Daily Journal. Tupelo went 39-25 under Gann.
The Golden Wave went to the North half finals in Gann's first season at the helm. This year, Tupelo was eliminated by Starkville in three games in the first round of the playoffs. Before coaching Tupelo, Gann went 187-75-2 at Houston, including a state title in 2016.
Gann did not return a message seeking comment, nor did Tupelo athletics director Jason Miller.
