Former Alabama golfer Justin Thomas is in contention entering the weekend at the 2026 PGA Championship, while Bud Cauley also made the cut.

As the 2026 PGA Championship enters the weekend, former Alabama Crimson Tide golfer Justin Thomas remains in contention near the top of the leaderboard. Following another solid round Friday, Thomas currently sits at two-under (-2) par for the tournament, a score which has the former Crimson Tide standout two shots back of the leaders at four-under (-4). Maverick McNealy and Alex Smalley are both tied for the lead entering the third round Saturday.

On Friday, Thomas' second round featured a score of one-under par (-1), shooting a 69. This was Thomas' second consecutive day shooting a 69 at the PGA Championship. In addition to Thomas, former Alabama golfer Bud Cauley also made the cut to play the weekend following two solid rounds Thursday and Friday.

Cauley currently sits at one-over par (+1) for the tournament, and shot a 72 on Friday after posting a 69 during the first round Thursday. Davis Riley, another former Alabama golfer, did not make the cut after posting a 78 and 73 over the first two rounds. Both of Thomas and Cauley will return to action Saturday at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania for the third round of the PGA Championship.
