Patriots newcomer shares unique bond with star LB Harold Landry

The connection between Patriots tight end Julian Hill and edge rusher Harold Landry goes all the way back to high school.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — For Julian Hill, it's truly a full-circle moment as the tight end finally gets the opportunity to play with one NFL star that he grew up idolizing. Linebacker Harold Landry and Hill have a connection that takes them all the way back to their hometown.

"We went to the same high school, from the same area. I was in eighth grade, he was a senior at the time," Hill told reporters on Thursday. "They had a freaking phenomenal year.

Obviously, Harold was a big-time recruit coming out of high school. So I get a chance to play with him. " So, when he officially signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots , Hill revealed that his head coach from high school called both him and Landry, expressing how excited he is about them being on the same team.

"First time getting a chance to really meet him. Great guy, great competitor," he said. "I've gone against him a couple times.
