Florida Gators remain heavy favorite for top-100 recruit with his commitment date approaching

Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall is thriving in his new role. The one area heโ€™s been most successful is in recruiting, taking it to a level not seen under former head coach Billy Napier .

The class of 2027 already has 14 commitments in it, with five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller leading the way as the No. 3 overall recruit, per Rivals. Sumrall already has two top-100 commitments in this class, doubling what Napier secured in the 2026 class before he was fired.

Four-Star WR Elias Pearl Pearl is another target from the state of Florida, residing in Port Charlotte less than 200 miles from Gainesville. The Rivalsโ€™ Industry Ranking ranks Pearl as the 95th overall recruit and the 17th-best wide receiver in the 2027 class. Florida has two wide receivers committed in the 2027 class, including four-star Tramond Collins and four-star Anthony Jennings .
