FSU softball will play Jacksonville State in Tallahassee Regional

The FSU Seminoles will play the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Saturday in an elimination game in the Tallahassee Regional. Both teams lost on Friday and will need to win four straight to win the regional. Jacksonville State (45-15) lost to the UCF Knights 2-1 in eight innings on Friday in the second game of the regional.

The Gamecocks took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a home run by Makalyn Kyser, but had just four more hits as the Knights stormed back, tying the game with two outs in the seventh inning before walking it off in the eighth with a single. The Gamecocks finished the game with five hits and four walks, striking out five times. They went 1-15 with runners on and 0-8 with runners in scoring position, an area FSU struggled in their loss to Stetson.

The Seminoles lead the all-time series against Jacksonville State 6-2. This is the first time they have played since FSU beat them twice in the 2018 Tallahassee Regional. The game is set to start at 2:30 p.
