With the schedule in place, predicting the Patriots record for the upcoming 2026 season
When the schedule came out last season, it was hard imagining the stunning turnaround the Patriots ultimately staged. Even with what was considered a “soft” schedule, it was still a surprise watching them win 14 games and wrestling the AFC East crown away from the Buffalo Bills. Their unexpected run took them to the Super Bowl, before losing to the Seattle Seahawks.
Playing a first-place schedule, against most of the NFL’s best, how will that translate? Here’s my take on how the 2026 season will shake out for the Patriots: Week 1: Patriots at Seahawks (Sept. 9) Lowdown - Prime time game Wednesday night right out of the gate against the team that smoked them in Super Bowl 60.
Part of me believes the Patriots will be so stoked to take down the Seahawks in this game and pull off the upset. The offensive line will block and Drake Maye will pick apart the Seahawks secondary with new weapon A. J.
Brown, who is expected to join the team after June 1, leading the charge. However, my head says this will be the first regular season road loss during the Mike Vrabel era after going a perfect 8-0 last year. The good news is it’ll be a much more competitive game than the Super Bowl, but a loss nonetheless.
