This comes as the brass at Stamford Bridge prepare to put a wall up around their star goalscorer. Frontman Pedro has of course dominated the headlines in the Spanish media across the week to date.
With a deal for chief centre-forward transfer target Julián Alvarez looking increasingly complicated, Barcelona have shifted full focus towards the former Watford talent. Blaugrana sporting director Deco is understood to have gone as far as to travel to London for negotiations with Pedro’s representatives. If the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Friday is anything to go by, however, then the Spanish champions could yet be scared off their pursuit of the Brazilian, too… As per a report from journalist Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo: ‘Chelsea considers him their best current player, and from João Pedro’s camp, they see it as difficult for him to leave for less than €100M.
