Libby Loggers boys tennis edges Columbia Falls
May 15—The Libby Loggers tennis teams split a match Saturday against Columbia Falls. The boys claimed a 4-3 win while the girls were defeated, 6-1. Scoring wins for the boys team were No.
2 singles player Zander Gassman and all three doubles teams. Gassman dropped the first set, 7-5, to Pablo Perles, before rallying in 6-2 and an exciting, third set, 7-5 win. Libby's top two doubles teams won in three sets.
At No. 1, Isaac Lamere and Blaise Erickson won the opener, 6-2, before a 3-6 loss to Jack Austin and Blake Perry. But Lamere and Erickson won a hard-fought, third set, 6-4.
At No. 2, Cole Sunell and Jon Cano dropped the first set, 6-4, to Wildcats' Jackson Bowlecky and Gabe Plevel before coming back to win 6-3, 7-5. At No.
3, Libby's Jaxon Huni and Elry Hall won a straight-set match, 6-4, 6-4, over Asher Kirk and Javen Thomas. In the girls match, No. 4 singles player Zoey Fosgate won in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, over Campbell LaCasse.
