The exciting NFL schedule release wasn't the only reveal the Pittsburgh Steelers had in store, as team president Art Rooney II has hinted at some possible uniform choices for the upcoming 2026 season. On Thursday, Rooney told Bob Labriola of Steelers. com that the team would wear the color rush uniform "for one of the night games at home," in addition to the 1933 replica throwbacks and gold helmets worn last season against the Green Bay Packers .
"We'll wear our Throwbacks for one of the feature games," Rooney said. "We're still working through the schedule, and I'm sure we'll be announcing that in the coming weeks. " Art Rooney II told Bob Labriola that the team likely will wear its Color Rush uniforms for one of the night games at home, and that the throwbacks for the upcoming season again will be the replica of the uniform the franchise wore in its inaugural season of 1933.
The gold helmetsโฆ โ Blitzburgh (@Blitz_Burgh) May 15, 2026 The 1933 replica throwback uniforms, which feature a matte gold jersey with black stripes, white numbers on the front, black numbers on the back, and the Pittsburgh city crest on the chest, have been polarizing, to say the least. Here's to hoping the Steelers can also wear their gold helmets along with their color rush jerseys this season, which would be reminiscent of the 1962 throwbacks they wore from 2007-2011.
