The good news is that Quinn Hughes likes the idea of signing a contract extension to stay with the Wild long term. The bad news, in a relative sense, is that it's going to cost a lot of money. Hughes spoke with reporters on Friday after Minnesota's season ended, and he was asked about his future.
The context is that Hughes has just one year left on his current deal. When the Wild made the blockbuster deal to get Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks , they clearly would've hoped to keep him around longer than just a season and a half. Hughes seems up for that.
“I really like it here," Hughes told reporers on Friday . "I love the team. I love the city and the fans.
