Liverpool ruled out of race for £17m Mohamed Salah replacement
Liverpool ruled out of race for £17m Mohamed Salah replacement The Reds' main may is set to exit Anfield at the end of the current season, a year before his contract was due to expire. The Egyptian King has arguably had one of his worst-ever campaigns in a Liverpool shirt, scoring just seven Premier League goals. Indeed, a lot of this is due to the role that Arne Slot has asked the Egyptian King to play this term but it does feel like he could've done slightly better than he did.
And, since the Reds are allowing him to leave for nothing, the search for his replacement is well and truly on with several names already being mentioned. But, for one of their targets, it feels like Liverpool's transfer chase for him could be over. Liverpool are no longer looking at making a move for Dario Osorio Over the last couple of months, several attackers have been linked with an Anfield switch.
Liverpool's forward line has been one of their weakest areas this term and, if the Reds want to compete for trophies again next season, they need to have attackers who can actually put the ball into the back of the net. However, since one of their main priorities is to sign young players who have plenty of potential, coming across a gem could be rather tough. But, Dario Osorio, one of the Reds' many targets , felt like he ticked all the boxes and the fact that it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to get the transfer over the line made him a solid option for Liverpool.
Although, a fresh report from Ben Jacobs may have just thrown all of that up into the air. Taking to the GiveMeSport website, the journalist outlines that 'multiple' Premier League clubs were vying for his transfer this summer with the Premier League being his 'most likely' destination. "GMS understands Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Everton have all approached the Danish club and are currently the main English clubs to watch," he wrote.
"22-year-old Osorio has been scouted in the past by Arsenal, but there is no indication of anything advancing yet. Arsenal's priority in attack remains to find a starting left-winger. "Liverpool also tracked Osario as a teenager but are not an active suitor now.
