Ohio State football announces installation of new Ohio Stadium turf
The Ohio State football program announced that it will be installing new turf inside Ohio Stadium for the upcoming season.
We've had a flurry of Ohio State football news as it relates to changes with uniforms this coming season, and now it appears as though the Buckeyes will be playing on a new surface inside 'The Shoe" this fall as well. The new turf will feature Shaw Sports Turf’s Forge Series™ system and will be installed by The Motz Group. The new field will continue to be sponsored by Safelite.
Shaw’s Forge Series™ is a system-level product line designed to meet NFL standards , featuring Game ON® technology that integrates field markings directly into the turf, meaning that it will open the door to further sponsorship and branding opportunities. “The new turf is a welcomed upgrade to Ohio Stadium to maintain the safety and performance of our players on gamedays,” Ryan Day said in a statement. We're sure there will be some pictures on social media of the progress, and as that happens, we'll have it for you.
The current turf inside Ohio Stadium has been in place just four years, but with the changing landscape of college football, making the change now is getting in front of where things are going.
