However, the starting rotation is in a great space, with Carlos Rodon and Gerrit Cole's return making the SP need nonexistent. But there is still a need for the pitching staff this season. Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller linked the Yankees to a trade deadline need of help for David Bednar.
While he's a good reliever, the Yankees could use some help surrounding him in the bullpen. "David Bednar has been solid enough at closer, but they would greatly benefit from a 'set-up man who can close on occasion,'" Miller writes. Such a need, fortunately, should be easily resolved for the Yankees if they so choose to pursue it at this year's trade deadline.
