Cousins, Mendoza recreate iconic movie in schedule release video
The two Las Vegas Raiders quarterbacks went for a nostalgic vibe in the team's 2026 schedule release video.
It's that time of year again in the NFL ā that's right, schedule release video time. Each year, the NFL releases the schedule for the upcoming season around this time, and recently, another tradition has emerged alongside it: tailor-made schedule-release videos on social media from each team. And this year, the Raiders took advantage of their dynamic quarterback duo, which is making headlines ahead of the season, to evoke nostalgia among fans.
Veteran Kirk Cousins and No. 1 overall 2026 NFL Draft pick Fernando Mendoza starred in the franchise's schedule release video, recreating scenes from the iconic 2008 comedy film Step Brothers, which starred Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as a pair of adult misfits who become family members.
And just as happened to the actors' characters in the movie, Mendoza and Cousins just became best friends. ' Fernando Mendoza and Kirk Cousins played "Step Brothers" for the Raiders schedule release š š„ (via @Raiders ) pic. twitter.

But regardless of what's next on the field for the two signal callers, an odd couple comedy starring the two might make for a good offseason project in the future.
