The Real Madrid president claimed that Los Blancos had been robbed of titles due to match officials, but Lopez has wasted little time revealing exactly what he thinks of the comments.
“Everyone is free to say what they want, but I simply think this speech is false,” he told Què Thi Jugues” “It cannot be true, we had Messi, Iniesta and Xavi, it’s impossible. ” Perez’s words may still land him in hot water. The Spanish Association of Football Referees (AESAF) has called for an apology and asked for disciplinary proceedings to be opened against Perez.
Barcelona have also issued a statement and confirmed they are examining whether to take legal action. Both teams are back in action at the weekend. Barcelona host Real Betis in their final home game of the season, while Madrid face Sevilla.
