Sean McVay talked about the team as a whole when asked specifically about Rams rookie Ty Simpson.

It hasn’t even been a month yet, but Sean McVay is probably getting tired of the Ty Simpson questions already. McVay was on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” Thursday night to talk about the Los Angeles Rams’ schedule , and Peter Schrager took the opportunity to ask about the team’s top rookie. “Now that we are about a month removed, the Ty Simpson pick, what has been the fallout?

And also, what are you guys thinking now that you’re in the building and he’s there with you in the fold? ” For starters, not a great question from Schrager, who’s a good friend of McVay’s. And clearly, the Rams coach didn’t want to talk up the rookie after only a week of having him at the facility, particularly with Matthew Stafford still being the guy in L.

A. So McVay responded with a non-answer, talking around the question by discussing the team as a whole. “He’s been – yeah, the rookies have been here for a week,” he said.

“We’re focusing on our team. It’s been great to have our group in there, being able to get out on the field, do some stuff in the Phase 2, get into the meetings. I really love a lot of these guys, and I'm excited about building relationships with the new guys.
