The results are in for the Montgomery Advertiser's athlete of the week, presented by the Vance Law Firm , for performances during May 4-8. The poll ran from May 10-14, with readers given the option to vote once every hour. Trinity Presbyterian's Layla Pelt won the poll after pitching seven innings and earning the win on the mound during a game on May 4.
Pelt didn't allow any runs on three hits and struck out four batters. Pelt won the poll with 54% of the total votes, beating out Alabama Christian Academy's Adalee Lincoln. Nominees come from top performers the week before.
