High school baseball 2026 playoff schedule for the Springfield area

When the Illinois High School Association released the baseball postseason schedule on Wednesday, five different teams in The State Journal-Register's coverage area were top seeds while five more got No. 2 seeds. In Class 1A, Jacksonville Routt, Mount Pulaski and Pawnee all enter the postseason with No.
1 seeds while Pleasant Plains (2A) and Chatham Glenwood (3A) also have the biggest targets. Morrisonville in 1A, Gillespie and Petersburg PORTA in 2A while 3A teams Jacksonville and last year’s Class 2A state champion Sacred Heart-Griffin are the top seeds in their regional brackets as No. 2s.
The Class 1A and 2A state tournaments culminate June 12-13 at Illinois Field in Champaign. The 3A and 4A state tournaments wrap up at Slammers Stadium in Joliet the same weekend. Below is the schedule for all local teams.
