Former Midland RockHound Henry Bolte makes big impact in MLB debut

WEST SACRAMENTO, California (KMID/KPEJ) – The red-hot former Midland RockHound Henry Bolte was recently called up to the big leagues on Tuesday. He finally got his time to shine in Wednesday’s matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals.

It was a breakout night for the A’s No. 5 prospect in Wednesday’s 6-2 win over the Cardinals at Sutter Health Park. He went 2-for-2 with a walk, picked up his first hit and RBI, and capped it off with a diving catch in the sixth to rob Nolan Gorman.

In his Major League debut, Bolte made history, becoming just the eighth-youngest Athletic to start in center field, and the second-youngest in the last 60 years, trailing only Carlos Gonzalez in 2008. In the final game of the series, Bolte got another hit, bringing his total to three in the major leagues. He is now batting .
