High school baseball: Thursday’s 6A/5A Super Regionals Game 2 recap

The Chargers took an early lead in the first inning and secured the victory with another run in the eighth, courtesy of Krew Thorn’s RBI double. Bingham managed to level the score at 1-1 in the third inning, but couldn’t sustain their momentum. Zach Sorenson’s pitching held Bingham to one hit, while Dax Bradford took the loss on the mound for the Miners after striking out four.
Lone Peak 14, Westlake 1 No. 3 Lone Peak secured a commanding 14-1 victory over No. 14 Westlake, sweeping the series 2-0 to advance to next week’s 6A bracket play at BYU.
Krew Robinson went 3 for 3 with three RBIs, while Boston Walkenhorst went 1 for 3, driving in three runs as well. The Knights broke the game open with a seven-run third inning, leaving Westlake unable to respond despite a late run in the fifth inning. Lehi 15, Davis 3 Cole Ybarra went 3 for 3 with three RBIs, and Murphy Madsen contributed significantly by going 2 for 2 with three RBIs and a home run to propel No.
5 Lehi to a 15-3 victory over No. 12 Davis in Game 2 of the 6A Super Regionals series. Lehi’s offense surged with five runs in each of the first two innings, and a four-run third inning put the game out of reach early.
