NEW YORK — Gang Green fans will see a familiar face to begin Week 1. The 2026 season will begin in Nashville for the Jets as they will take on the Titans. Robert Saleh, who coached the Jets for four seasons, became Tennessee’s coach in January following a second stint as 49ers defensive coordinator.

This isn’t the first time the NFL schedule-makers have had a sense of humor when it comes to the Jets’ season opener. A year ago, the Jets opened the season against the Steelers and former quarterback Aaron Rodgers, months after he was released. In addition to Saleh, Jermaine Johnson, John Franklin-Myers, Solomon Thomas, Tony Adams, Michael Carter and Jacob Martin are also on the Titans roster.

Former Giants coach Brian Daboll is also the Titans’ offensive coordinator. Following a 3-14 season, the Jets have revamped their roster in a critical year for coach Aaron Glenn. Geno Smith is back under center after he was acquired in a March trade with the Raiders.
