Troy Aikman defends Jalen Hurts against his critics
Troy Aikman says Jalen Hurts is up to the challenges the Eagles may present.
Despite taking his team to a Super Bowl just over a year ago, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has still faced a lot of criticism and backlash from the NFL community, unfairly, some think. ESPN Monday Night Football commentator Troy Aikman gave his thoughts on Hurts and how he believes Hurts is up for the challenge. "I think that there will be more asked of Jalen Hurts to work the middle of the field, to maybe line up under center a little bit more in the play-action game, and that's an offense that I'm a big believer in," the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer said on โGet Upโ, Then he added, "I believe Jalen can do anything that he's asked to do.
" But there are still some Hurts doubters, including within the Eagles organization, according to Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Jeff McLane . McLane interviewed another source with the team earlier this spring, who said โHe knows the catโs out on some of his bag. You got to be able to produce.
You canโt be near the bottom of the league in passing two years in a row with the amount of talent that we have. Itโs not acceptable. And itโs everybody saying it โ from [owner] Jeffrey [Lurie] on down.
" With that being said, Lurie and Hurts, according to many, still have a good relationship regardless of what some insiders may think. This article originally appeared on Touchdown Wire: Troy Aikman defends Jalen Hurts against his critics
