Boston announced in a press release on Thursday that assistant general manager Jamie Langenbrunner has decided to leave the organization to look for other roles elsewhere. โ€œThe Boston Bruins have agreed to allow Jamie Langenbrunner to pursue other opportunities in the National Hockey League,โ€ the statement read. โ€œThe organization wishes Jamie and his family all the best moving forward.

โ€ Lagenbrunner joined the Bruins as a developmental coach before the 2015-16 season and was later promoted to director of player development in 2019-20. He was then named an assistant general manager ahead of the 2022-23 season, reporting to Don Sweeney. With the Bruins, he was tasked with overseeing player personnel, player identification, and acquisition on the pro side, according to NHL reporter Cam Robinson.

Yet, after 11 years with the team, Lagenbrunner is now looking to go elsewhere for another front office role. For his playing career, Lagenbrunner skated in 1,109 games in the NHL, recording 243 goals and 420 assists for 663 points, playing for the Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, and St. Louis Blues.
