The Mississippi high school softball championships for 2026 are here. See a roundup of some of the MHSAA winners.

HATTIESBURG — The Mississippi high school softball championships are under way at the Southern Miss Softball Complex for the MHSAA playoffs . Games began May 12 and run through May 15 for classes 1A-7A. Here is a recap of some of the games.

Lafayette softball sweeps in MHSAA 5A, wins first title The Lady Commodores claimed the 5A championship after a 2-0 sweep over Sumrall. Lafayette avenged last season's 5A title loss. Lafayette won Game 1, 7-5, on May 12 and Game 2, 9-8.

Grace Dreher won series MVP after pitching 14 innings with 10 strikeouts and went 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBIs. East Union claims 2A championship over Enterprise-Clarke Both teams won a state title last season, with East Union in 2A and Enterprise-Clarke in 3A. But the Urchins prevailed once again.

East Union won its fourth straight title after a 2-0 sweep over Enterprise-Clarke, winning Game 1, 11-0, and Game 2, 14-0. Four-time MHSAA Miss Softball winner Lucy Cochran won series MVP after pitching 11 innings with zero runs allowed, 19 strikeouts and an RBI. West Union wins first title after sweep in 1A A termite swarm affected Game 1 of the 1A final, but it didn't seem to hinder West Union.
