On Thursday, they made a minor move that could excite some fans. According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the Celtics have brought on former point guard Isaiah Thomas as a professional and college scout. Thomas spent 12 seasons in the NBA, including three with the Celtics from 2014 to 2017.
During his time with Boston, Thomas enjoyed the best years of his career. He played in 179 games, averaging 24. 7 points per game.
His outstanding performance earned him All-Star honors twice, and he played a key role in leading the Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals in the 2016-17 season. The Celtics traded Thomas to the Cavaliers following the 2016-17 season in a deal centered around Cleveland star guard Kyrie Irving. Unfortunately, Thomas’s career never regained its former momentum after that.
