Guardians make 'Cincinnati isn't in Ohio' jokes ahead of Reds series

Yahoo Sports

As the Guardians prepare to face their former manager, they're sticking with the "Cincinnati isn't in Ohio" rhetoric.

The Cleveland Guardians are sticking with the "Cincinnati isn't in Ohio" rhetoric with a new post via the team's official Twitter/X account, ahead of their three-game series May 15-17 at Progressive Field. The video includes several Guardians' players talking about how they believe Cincinnati to be somewhere in Kentucky. "The Reds come back in state this weekend," reads the caption.

In May 2025, the Reds' official Twitter/X account seized an opportunity to avenge a months-old jab from the Guardians account with a tweet that followed a three-game sweep at Great American Ball Park of their in-state, American League counterpart. The Reds tweeted a photo of a T-shirt that read, "Got swept in Cincinnati, OH," with the caption, "Y'all want some new shirts, @CleGuardians? " In September 2024, "Cincinnati is in Kentucky" was edited onto shirts showing Guardians players celebrating after a win over the Reds and shared on the team's official page.
