Dolphins claim former Packers DL off of waivers
The Miami Dolphins continue to build Green Bay South, as they're bringing in another former Packer.
The Miami Dolphins have already brought in a few former Green Bay Packers to their building, including general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, head coach Jeff Hafley and quarterback Malik Willis, but they want more. On Thursday, Miami claimed former Packers defensive lineman James Ester off waivers. Ester, 24, spent five years at Northern Illinois from 2019-23, recording 121 tackles, nine sacks, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception (which was returned for a touchdown).
The Packers signed Ester as an undrafted free agent in 2024, and he spent the last two seasons on the team's practice squad. With Hafley running Green Bay's defense the last two years, he must like something he saw from Ester to bring him with him to South Florida.
