Bob Myers explains what the Philadelphia 76ers are looking for in a new leader as well as the ideal timeline for the hire.

CAMDEN, N. J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to begin a new era in the front office after moving on from Daryl Morey after six seasons as the team's President of Basketball Operations.

The Sixers made the playoffs in five of those six seasons and made it to Round 2 in four of those seasons, but ultimately, were unable to get over the hump as managing partner Josh Harris and Co. decided to make a change. Replacing Morey in the interim is former Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers who was serving as President of Sports for Harris & Blitzer Sports and Entertainment.

Myers led the Warriors to four championships in his 11-plus seasons on the job out in The Bay and will be looking to lead the search for the next head of basketball operations in Philadelphia. On Thursday, he addressed the media sitting alongside Harris and he gave lengthy answers into what he is looking for in the new hire, his role during and after the process, and the ideal timeline on a hire. The following are the quotes in their entirety: Myers on the characteristics he is looking for in the new hire "I'm a big believer in character and leadership, and I'm looking for a person that embodies those things, but there's many characteristics under that, that I believe kind of qualify in making a modern GM a success.
