Mets rookie A.J. Ewing hit his first career home run, a 405-foot shot, showcasing unexpected power in his third MLB game.

Add some power to the list of attributes that A. J. Ewing has showcased in his first major league series.

In the third inning of his third game of his career on Thursday afternoon, Ewing pulled an inside fastball from Keider Montero into the Mets' bullpen in right-center field for his first home run. It was a long solo shot that measured 405 feet and came 110. 5 mph off the bat.

With the long ball in his opening at-bat, the Mets rookie outfielder elevated his OPS to 1. 767 in 10 plate appearances. Both of Ewing's hits have been of the extra-base variety, with his first career hit being an RBI triple on Tuesday night.
