The Real Madrid Foundation and the Alcohol and Society Foundation have officially renewed their collaboration agreement, continuing a partnership that began in 2021 with the goal of preventing alcohol consumption among minors through education, awareness, and sport. The renewal ceremony took place this morning and featured Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, alongside Silvia Jato, Director of Institutional Relations at the Alcohol and Society Foundation. Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and supporting the development of children and young people.

As part of the renewed agreement, the “Not a Drop for Minors” educational program will continue to be implemented at Real Madrid Foundation camps. The initiative focuses on educating children about the importance of healthy habits and responsible decision-making from an early age. Since the partnership first began, the program has already reached nearly 300 children participating in basketball camps organized by the foundation.

Beginning this summer, the initiative will also expand into football camps, significantly increasing the program’s reach and impact. During the event, Butragueño emphasized the importance of sport as a tool for education and personal development. “Sport plays a fundamental role in transmitting values and promoting healthy lifestyles,” he explained, while also highlighting the importance of helping young people build positive habits during formative stages of their lives.

Silvia Jato also underlined the educational significance of the partnership and the importance of connecting with children in environments they trust and identify with. “Prevention works when we reach young people in spaces where they feel comfortable,” she said. “Sport teaches effort, commitment, perseverance, and teamwork — values that also help foster healthy lifestyle choices and responsible decisions.

” The agreement further strengthens the shared commitment of both institutions toward education, prevention, and the holistic development of children through sport. The Alcohol and Society Foundation, established in the mid-2000s, is a non-profit organization focused primarily on combating underage drinking. Although funded by the spirits industry, the foundation operates independently and centers its work on educational programs and practical prevention initiatives aimed at promoting responsible behavior among young people.
