Former Stanford star confirms he will remain in 2026 NBA draft
Ebuka Okorie is focused on the next step in his basketball journey, and he confirmed he will not be returning to the Cardinal next season.
The NBA draft combine exists for team executives to evaluate prospects coming into the league. However, it also serves as a litmus test for players to see if they can cut it at the next level. Ebuka Okorie has apparently seen enough in Chicago, to the point that he feels convinced that he's ready to make the leap now.
"I already talked with (Stanford head coach) Kyle Smith and I talked to my agents and my family. I'm staying in the draft," Okorie told ESPN. It's easy to understand Okorie's decision.
He lit up the scoreboard as a freshman for Stanford, averaging over 23 points per game. He put up a season-high 40 points on Georgia Tech in early February. NEWS: Stanford guard Ebuka Okorie says heโs staying in the NBA draft.
