Just earns New Zealand World Cup call-up
New Zealand international Elijah Just will this summer become the first permanent Motherwell player to feature at a World Cup since Tommy Coyne in 1994. The midfielder has been confirmed in the All Whites squad for the showpiece tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July. New Zealand - playing their first World Cup since 2010 when they were unbeaten in the group stage but failed to register a victory - are in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran and Egypt.
Just has earned 42 caps so far, scoring nine goals and contributing three assists. The 26-year-old joined Motherwell from Danish second-tier side AC Horsens last summer and has been a standout in Jens Berthel Askou's team. The midfielder, who can also be deployed on the wings or up front, has seven goals and eight assists in 42 appearances for the Steelmen.
