Pittsburgh recalled Bidois on Tuesday, and the reliever got into the game on Wednesday with the Pirates trailing 6-4. When Bidois entered the game, he made history as he became the first Australian to play for the Pirates. “It was super special,” Bidois said postgame on Wednesday.
“Throughout the game, we had a lot of phone calls to the bullpen, and every time your heart just kind of drops and sinks out of your stomach. But nah, it was great. Obviously, not the result the team wanted.
“Going out there, I was just concerned about throwing strikes, filling up the zone, giving us a chance, and I think I did a pretty good job of that. I was tense. I'm going to come back, and I'm going to go out there and do the same thing again for a different result.
