SEC recruiting rankings after Georgia football's recent turmoil

Yahoo Sports

Georgia football recruiting has been up-and-down recently, with the Bulldogs ranked outside the top-25 nationally in the 2027 class.

The Georgia Bulldogs have had an up-and-down time on the recruiting trail recently. Georgia added a commitment from three-star linebacker Temorris Campbell most recently, but the Bulldogs have suffered decommitments from five-star cornerback Donte Wright and four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse. Georgia's commitment from five-star tight end Jaxon Dollar on April 30 was big for UGA and helped lessen the blows from Georgia's two recent decommitments.

Georgia's recent woes have the Bulldogs in the middle of the pack in the SEC. Yes, Georgia will in all likelihood rise before the early signing period, but this cycle could represent a shift an recruiting ideology for Georgia. The Oklahoma Sooners have the top recruiting class in the SEC and nationally with 21 total commitments.

However, the Sooners don't have the best quality of recruits. The Texas A&M Aggies hold that honor with an average recruit rating of 92. 77, per 247Sports.

The Aggies have 13 total commitments and the nation's second-best recruiting class. So far, usual recruiting powerhouses Georgia, Alabama and Texas are off to slower starts with all three programs ranked outside the top-15. The Florida Gators have made a strong recent run in recruiting and have a top-10 national class.
