She explained how it’s starting to show results this week in Rome. Swiatek says she’s spinning the ball more and playing like a clay-courter again Photo by Robert Prange/Getty Images During her press conference, Swiatek was asked about how her forehand has been feeling. “Yeah, I mean, I’ve been playing a bit differently, I would say,” said Swiatek.

“More similar to how I played a couple years ago, more like a clay court player. “I guess all the things that we practiced really clicked during the last few matches. Swiatek was then asked about her serve, another area of her game she’s been working on with her new coach Francisco Roig.

“Honestly, I feel on clay that there is not so much pressure on the serve because it’s not so easy to get free points,” she said. Iga Swiatek awaits either Svitolina or Rybakina in Italian Open semi-final Swiatek’s win over Pegula secured her place in the semi-finals, where she could face either Elina Svitolina or Elena Rybakina. Both players have been impressive this season, though Swiatek has a stronger record against Svitolina, having won four of their six previous encounters.
