ET, teams will release their 2026 NFL schedule, providing the dates, times and orders of their 17-game slates. It’s an exciting day for fans, as they can start mapping out their plans to see their favorite team play in person, or start counting up the wins their team will amass over the next eight months. The Detroit Lions have already seen a few games in their 2026 NFL schedule leaked through the media, but there is still plenty more to come in the upcoming hours.
So today’s Question of the Day is: What is one thing you want to see from the Lions’ 2026 schedule? My answer: A bye week in the back half of the season. We’ve already talked about how the Lions are likely to incur a very difficult stretch of the season starting with their Week 10 game against the New England Patriots in Munich, Germany.
With no bye expected in Week 11, that means that they’ll have a 12-day stretch of three games. While that is not abnormal for the Lions because of the Thanksgiving short week, having an international trip in that stretch adds a particularly tough challenge. So, ideally, I’d like the Lions to go into that stretch well-rested.
